Save Our Space - Open Meeting - Andrew Fiske

Andrew Fiske is the Housing and Development Manager at South Hams District Council. Andrew told the meeting that in the South Hams district there are currently 20 households in bed and breakfast accommodation; 100 in temporary accommodation and few vacancies (less than 10 housing association places in 2003). There are also 1600 people on the housing register. There is also a need for people to be able to buy their own homes, however for the first time buyer this is impossible in this area. The situation is critical.
