Friday January 30th 2004 |
SOS Coordinators Susie Boyd and David Mitchell, together with local architects Peter Sutton and Bill Brown, had a fruitful and positive meeting last week with SHDC councillors and officers at which we outlined how a collaboration might work. A further meeting has been arranged next week after which we hope that SHDC will agree to withdraw their plan. We anticipate that shortly afterwards SOS will hold another Public Meeting to inform and involve the local community in the consultation process. |

Wednesday December 17th |
The SOS Public Meeting at the Civic Hall on December 8th was attended by over 270 people. You can look at the talks, comments and proposals presented at the meeting here. We'd like to thank all those who attended for making the evening such as success. Things do seem to be moving in our direction! We also promised to put up a list of the district councillors who serve on the Development Control (Planning) Committee. Here it is, with names, wards and addresses. |

Tuesday December 2nd |
Totnes Town Council held a full Council Meeting on 1st December 2003 at which the Southern Area Plan was considered at some length. We are pleased to report that the Council overwhelmingly endorsed the SOS view that the plan should be rejected. You can read all about it here. |

The Maps and Pictures page has been amended to add two aerial photos of the Southern Area taken 30 or 40 years ago. |

The Lost Views pages have been added. These try to show the effect of the development on some key Totnes views - looking south from the market. |
